After 25 years of studying and working in mainstream therapy as a registered psychologist, I found when I hit rock bottom with my own health, traditional talk therapy wasn’t able to shift my situation in a way that was productive and efficient. Talk therapy felt too slow and most of the time I felt disempowered. I was frustrated and scared that I was really just learning how to tolerate or cope better with symptoms that were overwhelming me. I found myself questioning everything I had learnt because nothing was helping.
At rock bottom, somehow I connected to a knowing inside me that told me there was a way to transform my health; I just had to ‘get out of my own way’. I started to engage pro-active support to help me adjust my understanding, beliefs and behaviour towards the health problems I was experiencing. I expanded my focus to include beliefs, emotions and energy as components of my health.
NeuroEnergetics started off as a personal journey to transform my health. This journey has since developed into a coaching style that helps people to work directly with the mind/body/energy connection that creates our experience of health and wellness.
Ultimately my goal is for each client to feel empowered to transform their own energy.
NeuroEnergetics differs from traditional talk therapy because it works with the subconscious mind, nervous system and energy field to create change and healing.
NeuroEnergetics Vs. Talk Therapy
During traditional talk therapy, you spend each session talking about what happened and how it has affected you. Essentially you are using your conscious mind to try and create change in your emotions, beliefs and reactions that are actually stored in the subconscious mind and locked into the nervous system.
During a NeuroEnergetics session we quickly identify your subconscious limiting beliefs that keep the old patterns of distress playing. We then re-write the limiting beliefs at the subconscious and nervous system level which also improves our energy field.
With new supportive beliefs wired into our subconscious, we can experience a new emotional state and move forward in life with ease and confidence.
